But did you know the cashew fruit actually has two parts we can talk about? The cashew apple is the fleshy, colourful part of the fruit. It is juicy, naturally sweet, and can be enjoyed fresh or used to make juices, preserves and other products. Then there’s the cashew nut, which develops at the bottom of the cashew apple, protected inside a hard shell. And getting that nut separated from the apple? It can certainly take some creativity! 👀 This reel shows an interesting hands on way of separating the two, turning a simple agricultural task into a demonstration of ingenuity. What began as a shared love and appreciation for chocolate quickly became a wonderful new friendship. And then came a very special surprise! After returning home, they sent us an extraordinary box filled with Tunnock’s treats for our team to enjoy. We had such fun unboxing everything and, of course, sharing the goodies with our Belmont Estate family, particularly our chocolate and cocoa processing teams. Quality cocoa begins long before the chocolate is Quality cocoa begins long before the chocolate is made. 🌱🍫 From soil and field management to harvesting, fermentation and drying, every step matters. We were pleased to host this practical Cocoa Post-Harvest Training organised by the International Trade Centre (ITC) under the EU-funded ACP Business Friendly programme funded by the European Union. Three days of learning, sharing, questioning and hands-on practice brought together farmers, cocoa processors, chocolate makers and other stakeholders committed to strengthening Grenada’s cocoa industry.
